Eagles Sign TE Will Tye To PS, Release TE Billy Brown

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they’ve signed TE Will Tye to their practice squad and released TE Billy Brown from the unit.

Here’s the Eagles updated practice squad:

  1. DE Joe Ostman
  2. WR Braxton Miller
  3. WR Dorren Miller
  4. LB Asantay Brown
  5. C Josh Andrews
  6. LB B.J. Bello
  7. RB Donnel Pumphrey
  8. DT Bruce Hector
  9. CB DeVante Bausby
  10. TE Will Tye

Tye, 26, wound up signing on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Stony Brook back in 2015. He was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.

Tye spent over two years with the Giants before he was waived at the start of last season and later claimed off of waivers by the Jets. Tye eventually ended up on the Patriots’ practice squad before returning to New England on a futures contract this past February.

Unfortunately, the Patriots waived Tye with an injury a settlement at the start of the regular season.

In 2017, Tye appeared in three games for the Jets and caught four passes for 38 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
