Eagles Signing WR Rasheed Bailey To Futures Deal

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Eagles are signing WR Rasheed Bailey to a future/reserve contract on Wednesday.

The Eagles have now signed nine players to futures deals including:

  1. LB Don Cherry (NFLTR)
  2. TE Anthony Denham
  3. G Darrell Green
  4. CB Aaron Grymes
  5. WR Marcus Johnson
  6. C Aaron Neary
  7. DT Aziz Shittu
  8. WR David Watford
  9. WR Rasheed Bailey

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Bailey, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Delaware Valley back in May of last year. The Eagles signed him to a three-year, $1.575 million rookie contract, but he was later among the team’s final roster cuts at the start of the season.

The Jaguars added him to their practice squad midseason and later brought him back on a future/reserve contract. Jacksonville waived Bailey a few weeks ago before he was later claimed off of waivers by the Charger.

San Diego cut Bailey loose with an injury designation as they got down to the 53-player limit before later waiving him with an injury settlement.

Bailey has yet to appear in an NFL game.
