Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery Plans To Practice This Week

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) tells Josina Anderson that he plans to practice this week, at least on a limited basis.

This is positive news for the Eagles, who have reportedly lost Mike Wallace for an indefinite amount of time with a serious ankle injury.

Jeffery said a few weeks ago he needed a few more weeks to recover, but it appears as though he’s drawing closer to a return.

The Eagles activated Jeffery from the PUP list coming out of the preseason, which prevented him from missing the first six weeks of the season.

Jeffery, 28, was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Bears. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4.54 million rookie contract with Chicago before agreeing to a one-year, $9.5 million contract with the Eagles last year.

Jeffery was in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason before he agreed to a four-year, $52 million extension last year.

In 2017, Jeffery has appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and caught 57 passes for 789 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 21 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Jeffery as the news is available.
