Eric Berry Unlikely To Play In Week 14, Chiefs Preparing Him To Return Next Week

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Chiefs S Eric Berry, who is listed as questionable for Sunday due to a heel injury, is not expected to play against the Ravens on Sunday.

However, Schefter adds that Kansas City is preparing Berry to be ready to make his season debut next Thursday against the Chargers.

Berry is working his way back from an Achilles tear and has been dealing with Haglund’s deformity, which is a bone spur that digs into the Achilles.

Berry, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2010. He worked his way back from Hodgkin’s lymphoma and managed to produce an impressive 2015 season.

Berry played out his rookie contract with the team before receiving the team’s franchise tag last year. However, the two parties ultimately agreed to a new six-year, $78 million contract that includes $29.8 million guaranteed.

Berry stands to make base salaries of $12.4 million and $9.4 million over the next two years.

In 2017, Berry appeared in one game and recorded seven tackles for the Chiefs.

We’ll have more regarding Berry as the news is available.
