Shelby, 29, originally signed now with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with Miami before joining the Falcons for the 2016 season.

Shelby was entering the third year of his four-year, $18 million contract that included $7.5 million guaranteed when the Falcons released him during the offseason. Atlanta re-signed Shelby a week later.

In 2018, Shelby appeared in seven games and recorded 10 tackles and no sacks for the Falcons.
