Falcons Put DE Vic Beasley On Trading Block

According to Jordan Schultz, the Falcons are shopping DE Vic Beasley to see what they can get on the trading block.

The Falcons had high expectations for Beasley when they picked up his fifth-year option heading into last season, but Schultz says he’s yet to produce what Atlanta was hoping. The team believes a change of scenery would also benefit Beasley.

Atlanta currently is 1-5, so selling off players that don’t fit into its long-term plans in exchange for draft picks makes sense at this stage.

Beasley is set to make $12.8 million in salary and will become an unrestricted free agent after the season. He also received “significant interest” at the trade deadline in 2018.

Beasley, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $14.5 million contract but the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option worth $14,200,000 for the 2019 season.

In 2019, Beasley has appeared in six games for the Falcons and recorded 12 total tackles, 1.5 sacks and one pass defense.

We’ll have more regarding Beasley as the news is available.
