Falcons RB Jason Snelling Retiring From The NFL

The Atlanta Falcons have announced that RB Jason Snelling is retiring, per Adam Caplan of the NFL Network.

According to Jay Adams, Snelling mentioned that spending more time with his family was the primary reason for his decision to retire.

The Virginia product played all seven NFL seasons with Atlanta.  He had one year remaining on the three-year, $4 million contract that he signed before the 2012 season.

Snelling ran for 1,420 yards on 363 carries over his career and had a 3.9 yard per carry average.  He also added 168 catches for 1,249 yards to go along with 17 total touchdowns.
