Falcons Sign QB Matt Schaub To Two-Year Extension

The Atlanta Falcons and QB Matt Schaub reached an agreement on a two-year contract extension Saturday.

“Matt has a great understanding of our scheme and brings valuable experience to the position,” Falcons HC Dan Quinn said.

Schaub, 37, is a former third-round pick of the Falcons back in 2004. He spent three years in Atlanta before he was traded to the Texans for the 2007 season.

After seven years in Houston, the Texans traded him to the Raiders for a sixth-round pick. From there, Schaub played one season with the Ravens before returning the Falcons for the 2016 season.

In 2018, Schaub appeared in three games for the Falcons and completed 5 of 7 pass attempts for 20 yards and no touchdowns.
