The Atlanta Falcons announced that they’ve placed DE Jonathan Massaquoi on waivers Friday.

Massaquoi, 26, is a former third round pick of the Falcons back in 2012. He still had one year remaining on his four-year, $2,268,860 rookie contract which included a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, this move will free up $660,000 in available cap space for the Falcons while creating only $42,215 in dead money.
In 2014, he appeared in 15 games and recorded 22 tackles, two sacks, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has Massaquoi rated as the No. 23 defensive end in a 4-3 defense last year out of 59 qualifying players.
