Former Broncos QB Chad Kelly Clears Waivers, Now A Free Agent

Former Broncos QB Chad Kelly officially passed through waivers unclaimed on Thursday, according to Nicki Jhabvala.

This means that Kelly is now free to sign with a team of his choosing.

Kelly was arrested early Tuesday on a charge of first-degree criminal trespassing in Englewood, Colo.

Kelly, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.464 million contract that included a $64,270 signing bonus and was set to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement when the Broncos waived him on Wednesday.

During his college career, Kelly threw for 6,858 yards while completing 63.9 percent of his passes to go along with 50 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
