Gerald McCoy’s Visit With Browns Ends Without Deal, Talks To Continue

According to Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns wrapped up their visit with free agent DT Gerald McCoy on Friday without an agreement in place.

Cabot does, however, say that talks between the two parties are expected to continue moving forward.

The expectation in recent days has been that McCoy will likely visit with a few teams before deciding on where he’ll play in 2019.

Rick Stroud reported last night that 10 NFL teams have expressed interest in McCoy since he was released by the Buccaneers and he has received offers as high as $11 million per year from interested teams.

We’ve seen several teams linked to McCoy in recent days including the Panthers, Colts, Bengals, Patriots, Ravens, Saints, and Falcons.

McCoy, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2010. He was in the fifth year of his seven-year, $95.2 million contract and set to make a base salary of $13 million in 2019 when the Buccaneers released him

In 2018, McCoy appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 28 tackles, six sacks, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 interior defender out of 112 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
