Giants Claim WR Da’Mari Scott, Release CB Tony Lippett

The New York Giants announced Wednesday that they’ve claimed WR Da’Mari Scott off of waivers and released CB Tony Lippett.

The Giants also re-signed K Joey Slye and received a commissioner’s exemption for the suspended Kamrin Moore.

Scott, 23, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State back in May of last year. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Browns, but was waived coming out of the preseason.

The Browns later signed Scott to their practice squad before promoting him to their active roster in October. Unfortunately, Cleveland cut him loose in December and he later caught on with the Bills.

Buffalo waived Scott on Tuesday.

During his college career at Fresno State, Scott caught 91 passes for 1,163 yards receiving and five touchdowns over the course of 42 games.
