Giants Downgrade QB Daniel Jones To Doubtful For Week 13

The New York Giants officially listed QB Daniel Jones as doubtful for Week 13 due to a hamstring injury.

This means that the Giants will likely start Colt McCoy for Week 13 with Alex Tanney as his primary backup once he officially signs.

Jones missed Wednesday’s practice and was a limited participant on Thursday.

Giants HC Joe Judge said Jones threw the ball well on the sidelines of Thursday’s practice, but they did not overexert him.

“I thought he threw the ball well. We didn’t want to open him up too much yesterday being a couple of days into moving around,” said Judge, via Ralph Vacchiano

Jones, 23, was selected by the Giants with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $25,664,056 rookie contract that included a $16,684,768 signing bonus.

In 2020, Jones has appeared in 11 games and recorded 228 completions on 361 pass attempts (63.2 percent) for 2,335 yards, eight touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also recorded 55 rushing attempts for 403 yards (7.3 YPC), one touchdown, seven fumbles, and four fumbles lost.
