Giants Officially Designate RB Shane Vereen To Return From Injured Reserve

The New York Giants officially designated RB Shane Vereen to return from injured reserve on Wednesday.

This opens a three-week window of time for the Giants to officially activate Vereen and add him to their 53-man roster.

New York placed Vereen on injured reserve back in September with a triceps injury.

Vereen, 27, signed a three-year, $12.35 million that included $5 million guaranteed with the Giants back in March of last year. He’s stands to make base salaries of $3.15 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Vereen has appeared in three games and rushed for 147 yards on 31 carries (4.7 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 75 yards receiving and one total touchdown.
