The New York Giants announced Wednesday that they’ve placed wide receiver Sterling Shepard on injured reserve with turf toe to make room for RB Devonta Freeman.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Shepard, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $5.944 million contract when he agreed to a four-year, $41 million extension that includes $21.3 million guaranteed last year.
In 2020, Shepard has appeared in two games and caught eight passes for 76 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
