Giants Re-Sign TE Scott Simonson To One-Year Deal

Matt Lombardo of NJ.com reports that the Giants have re-signed TE Scott Simonson to a one-year contract for the 2019 season.

Simonson, 26, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Assumption College back in 2014. He was unable to make Oakland’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed on to the team’s practice squad.

The Raiders elected to place him on waivers the following year and he later caught on with the Panthers. Simonson was on and off of Carolina’s roster over the past few years but the team, unfortunately, declined to tender him a restricted offer last offseason.

Simonson signed on with the Giants last summer.

In 2018, Simonson appeared in all 16 games for the Giants and caught nine passes for 86 yards and a touchdown.
