Report: Giants Re-Signing RB Da’Rel Scott

Update:

Mike Garafolo reports that the Giants are re-signing RB Da’Rel Scott.

Scott, 25, was waived last week, but with David Wilson dealing with a neck injury that reportedly caused “some kind of a tingling, it makes sense that the Giants would consider bring Scott back.

The Giants have a short week ahead of them, so there’s a chance that Wilson could miss Thursday’s game against the Bears. If that ends up being the case, I would expect New York to use a running back rotation.

The New York Giants announced that they have waived RB Da’Rel Scott and signed OL Dallas Reynolds Tuesday.

Scott, 25, is actually the team’s second-leading rusher this season, so this comes as a bit of surprise. David Wilson appears to be in a position to see his workload role increase in the coming weeks.

The Giants also have Brandon Jacobs and Michael Cox on their roster. Andre Brown, who was placed on injured reserve with a designation for return, will be eligible to return November 10 against the Oakland Raiders.

New York had to add some offensive lien depth with David Baas and Chris Snee dealing with injuries, so we’ll have to see Reynolds gets some playing time in the coming weeks.
