Giants Worked Out 12 Players

According to Howard Balzer, the New York Giants brought in 12 free agents for tryouts on Tuesday. 

The full list of tryouts for the Giants includes:

  1. CB Derrick Baity
  2. CB Picasso Nelson
  3. LB Reshard Cliett
  4. LB LaTroy Lewis
  5. WR Jamal Custis
  6. WR Trenton Irwin
  7. RB Josh Ferguson
  8. RB Austin Waltyer
  9. DT P.J. Johnson
  10. DE Carroll Phillips
  11. DE Kevin Wilkins
  12. QB Jordan Ta’amu

Cliett, 27, is a former sixth-round pick by the Texans out of South Florida in the 2015 NFL Draft. The Texans elected to waive him after one season and signed on with the Broncos’ practice squad in September of 2016 but got cut after a month. 

Cliett had short stints with the Jets, Cardinals, Titans before signing on with the Vikings. Minnesota re-signed him to a futures deal but he was once again waived as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit. 

He has yet to appear in an NFL game. 

Ferguson, 26, wound up going undrafted out of Illinois back in 2016. He spent over two years in Indianapolis before he was waived at the start of the 2018 season and later signed to the Texans’ practice squad.

Ferguson had a brief stint with the Patriots before returning to the Texans. Unfortunately, Houston waived him coming out of the preseason.

For his career, Ferguson has appeared in 6 games for the Colts and rushed for 25 yards on 16 carries to go along with 23 receptions for 152 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
