Jaguars Claim DB Tracy Howard Off Waivers From Browns

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they’ve claimed DB Tracy Howard off of waivers from the Browns on Friday.

Howard, 22, signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of last year. He wound up making the active roster coming out of the preseason and signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract. He is set to make a base salary of $540,000 for 2017.

The Browns elected to place him on waivers Thursday along with DB Trae Elston.

In 2016, Howard appeared in 15 games for the Browns and recorded 20 total tackles, one pass defense, and 111 yards as a kickoff return specialist.
