Update:

The Jacksonville Jaguars have officially announced their agreement with backup QB Chad Henne.

Rand Getlin is reporting that the Jaguars and QB Chad Henne have agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $8 million.

  • Getlin adds that the contract also includes some incentives built in as well.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, citing a team source, reports that the Jaguars are close to re-signing backup QB Chad Henne.

There was some talk that Henne could be brought back for another season, and Garafolo mentions that he has worked well with Blake Bortles, so it appears as though Jacksonville would prefer to keep their quarterback situation intact.

Henne, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2008. After four years in Miami, Henne signed on with the Jaguars where he has remained for the past four season.

In 2014, Henne appeared in three games for the Jaguars and threw for 492 yards while completing 53.8 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and one interception.

We’ll have more regarding an extension for Henne as the news is available.
