Jaguars Place DT Abry Jones On IR, Promote DT Richard Ash

The Jacksonville Jaguars officially placed DT Abry Jones on season-ending injured reserve and promoted DT Richard Ash to their active roster on Friday.

Jones, 24, signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia back in 2013. He’s in the final year of his three-year, $1.485 million rookie contract and will make a base salary of $585,000 for the 2015 season.

Jones will be a restricted free agent in the coming months.

In 2015, Jones appeared in 15 games for the Jaguars and recorded 17 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 45 defensive tackle out of 71 qualifying players.
