Jaguars Officially Placing RB Denard Robinson On Season-Ending I.R.

Update:

John Oesher of Jaguars.com reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars are officially placing RB Denard Robinson on season-ending injured reserve with a sprained foot on Tuesday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that RB Denard Robinson is out for the season with a foot injury sustained this past week against Houston.

Robinson has started the last eight games for Jacksonville, taking over for a largely ineffective committee, headlined by free agent acquisition RB Toby Gerhart.

Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley told reporters that Gerhart, RB Jordan Todman, and RB Storm Johnson will split carries with Robinson out.

Despite the injury, the Jaguars have to be encouraged with the season Robinson had.  There were questions about his chance to be a feature back after a largely quiet rookie season, but Robinson flashed ability, enough to likely warrant the job next season.

Robinson totaled 582 yards this season on 132 carries, good for 4.4 yards per carry.
