ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed veteran CB Rashean Mathis to a one-year deal worth $5 million.
Mathis, 31, suffered a torn ACL last year but has since said that he’s recovering just fine from the injury and should be able to return for the team’s training camp.
The Jaguars are in desperate need of help at the cornerback position so keeping Mathis makes sense as long as he’s able to recover from his recent surgery. I’d still expect to see them shopping around for another corner in free agency and possible draft someone in April.
