Jaguars HC Gus Bradley announced Friday that RB Toby Gerhart is out for Week 6’s game against the the Titans.
- Bradley mentioned that they will employ a running back-by-committee approach this weekend that includes Denard Robinson, Jordan Todman, and Storm Johnson.
Reports from earlier in the day mentioned that Gerhart (foot) suffered a setback during Wednesday’s practice, which explains why he surprising didn’t practice yesterday.
Gerhart, 27, has been a major disappointment this season after he signed a three-year, $10.5 million contract that included $4.5 million guaranteed with the Jaguars back in March. While this deal isn’t an albatross of a contract, it was the best deal secured by a free agent running back during free agency.
Over the course of five games, Gerhart has ran for 123 yards on 48 carries (2.6 YPC) and a touchdown while contributing another eight receptions fro 83 yards receiving.
