The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed the first player of their 2014 NFL Draft class on Monday as they announced an agreement with sixth-round pick OL Luke Bowanko.
- Bowanko receives a four-year contract from Jacksonville.
As a three-year starter with the Cavaliers, Bowanko saw playing time at each position along the interior offensive line. Bowanko has never missed a game due to injury in his three years as a starter.
It is worth noting that Jacksonville also selected Miami OG Brandon Linder in the third round, spent a decent amount of money on OG Zane Beadles in free agency, and actually signed restricted free agent C Alex Mack to an offer sheet, so they are clearly focused on revamping their interior offensive line.
Bowanko could see time as a swing reserve at some point, but heโll have to perform well during training camp and offseason activities to ensure a roster spot.
