Jaguars Trying To Trade DT Malik Jackson & RB Carlos Hyde

Adam Schefter reports that the Jaguars are attempting to trade DT Malik Jackson and RB Carlos Hyde before the start of the league year on March 13.

Schefter says that these are two players that some believe could be productive with the right opportunities.

Jackson, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $2,313,612 rookie contract before agreeing to a six-year, $85.5 million deal that included $42 million guaranteed with the Jaguars.

Jackson stands to make a base salary of $13 million in 2019.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Jackson will free up $11 million of available cap space while creating $4 million in dead money.

In 2018, Jackson has appeared in all 16 games and recorded 25 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a pass defense.

Hyde, 28, is a former second-round pick of the 49ers back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3.681 million contract before agreeing to a three-year contract worth $15 million with the Browns last year.

The Browns later traded Hyde to the Jaguars midseason for a 2019 fifth-round pick.

Hyde stands to make a base salaries of $3,250,000 for the 2019 season.

In 2018, Hyde appeared in 14 games for the Browns and Jaguars and rushed for 571 yards on 172 carries (3.3 YPC) to go along with 10 receptions for 33 yards receiving and five total touchdowns.
