Jared Allen Gives Favre a Timetable

Jarrod Allen told ESPN’s Chris Mortenson today that he would like Brett Favre to make a decision by the Vikings third preseason game to be fair to the team and Tavaris Jackson. Mortenson added that “Allen wasn’t mad, he didn’t say Favre was selfish, he just said he believes team needs to know by the 3rd pre game.”

In related news, ESPN1500 in Minnesota  reported a plane had left Hattiesburg, MS on Thursday morning to Pensacola, Florida, which just happens to be near Dr. James Andrews office in nearby Gulf Breeze. While they couldn’t confirm whether Favre was on that plane or not, NFL Network’s Scott Hanson was able to confirm that Favre did make the trip.

All of this is not all that surprising since Favre seems to be planning on returning to the Viking after undergoing ankle surgery in the offseason. Hopefully the pressure applied by Jared Allen will help to accelerate “Favre Watch 2010.”
