Jay Cutler Out 6-8 Weeks

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune reports that Jay Cutler will  undergo surgery on his broken thumb which will likely cost him 6-8 weeks.

Looking at the standing, Chicago will most likely have to win of the three of the team final six games in order for them to make the playoffs. Chicago final schedule consists of: @Oakland, KC, @Denver, Seattle, @Green Bay and @Minnesota.

The Bears are fortunate enough to have a great defense and arguably the best special teams unit in the game which should give them a shot at remaining competitive while Cutler is out.

Multiple reports are coming in that Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler suffered a broken thumb on his throwing hand during Sunday’s win over the Chargers.

Sean Jenson of the Chicago Sun-Times tweets that Cutler will under an MRI tomorrow but adds that “there is a fear that it could end his season.”

The Bears are currently on a five-game winning streak and a lot of that success can be attributed to the play of Cutler. The teams passing attack has been great during this stretch but Chicago will no doubt struggle if Cutler misses any amount of time. This could end up being terrible news for the Bears and their fans. We’ll have more as the news becomes available.
