Jets Begin Talks Regarding A Contract Extension For TE Dustin Keller

Rich Cimini of ESPN reports that the New York Jets and TE Dustin Keller have begun “preliminary contract discussions,” according to a league source. Cimini adds that a deal is not imminent at this point.

Keller, 27, has been a pretty decent weapon for Mark Sanchez in recent years, but grades out as a poor blocker. He’ll be entering the final year of his contract, so the Jets are obviously looking to address this now rather than the early part of next season. Keller will make $3.05 million for the upcoming season.
