Jets & Jaguars Complete Interview With Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy

Update: Adam Schefter reports the Jaguars have also completed their interview with Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy on Wednesday. 

Bieniemy interviewed with the Chargers Tuesday and with the Falcons and Lions on Monday. He’s now talked to teams regarding every vacancy except for the Texans, per Schefter. 


The Jets announced Wednesday they have completed an interview with Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy for their head coaching vacancy.

The list of candidates for New York includes: 

  • Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith (Requested)
  • Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus (Requested)
  • Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy (Interviewed)
  • Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll (Requested)
  • Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley (Requested)

Bieniemy, 51, played 10 seasons in the NFL for the Chargers, Bengals and Eagles before retiring in 1999. His NFL coaching career began in 2006 when he took over as the Vikings’ RBs coach.

The Chiefs hired him for the same position in 2013 and he was later promoted to offensive coordinator.
