Jets Expected To Keep Mark Sanchez As Their No. 2 QB

Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets are expected to keep Mark Sanchez in place as their No. 2 quarterback behind Greg McElroy.

This would be an obvious indication that the team doesn’t want Tim Tebow under center in any circumstance for the team’s final two games of the season. Tebow is reportedly prepared to ask for a trade or a release in the coming weeks, but the Jets seem to be prepared to shop him around the league at the end of the season.

For the time being, the Jets have said that they haven’t ruled out the idea of keeping all three quarterbacks active for the remaining two games of the season.

It’s hard to speculate as to whether or not any team will be willing to pursue Tebow during the offseason. The Jaguars continue to be the only team that makes sense, but I guess there’s always the chance he reunites with Josh McDaniels if he gets another shot at being a head coach in the league.
