Jets Likely To Take Josh Rosen Over Sam Darnold At No. 3?

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com is hearing that the Jets are likely to take to Josh Rosen over Sam Darnold at No. 3 overall.

If the Giants don’t take Darnold at No. 2, Zierlein mentions that “it will be raining picks in the Browns laps once again.”

This isn’t the first we’ve heard about Rosen to the Jets. Last night, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports said he spoke with general managers around the NFL believe the Jets are going to select Rosen at No. 3 overall after initially expecting them to target Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield: “I think Josh Rosen is the guy that they’re going to zero in on.

The Browns are reportedly set on using the No. 1 overall pick on Baker Mayfield and have made it know that they’re open to trading out of the No. 4 spot.

It’s possible that the Giants could find a team interested in trading up to No. 2 overall for Darnold, but that’s going to take a huge package of picks to pull off, especially for a team outside of the top 10 such as the Bills, Dolphins and Cardinals.

Zierlein adds that the Broncos could trade up to No. 2 overall to get Darnold, but he thinks the Bills would likely move up for Josh Allen.

Darnold was the consensus top pick in the draft for the past few months, so it would be stunning to see him end up being the third quarterback off the board.

We’ll have more regarding the Jets as the news is available.
