Jets Place RB Mike Goodson & WR Clyde Gates On Season-Ending IR

Update:

The New York Jets placed RB Mike Goodson on season-ending injured reserve after he suffered a serious knee injury against the Steelers last weekend.

  • The Jets also placed WR Clyde Gates on season-ending injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

Goodson, 26, signed a three-year contract worth $6.9 million that included $1.925 million guaranteed with the Jets during the offseason. He was later suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy and had gone AWOL for brief period of time.

The Jets will now turn to Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory in the coming weeks.

The New York Jets RB Mike Goodson tweets that he tore both his MCL and ACL during Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Not to happy right now But Everything Happens for a reason,” added Goodson.

Reports from Sunday night indicated that Goodson was likely done for the season, which is obviously the case now that he has confirmed multiple ligament tears in his knee.
