Jets Place ILB Avery Williamson On Injured Reserve

The New York Jets announced Saturday that they’ve officially placed ILB Avery Williamson on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Williamson suffered the injury during Thursday’s preseason. He underwent an MRI on Friday and it was determined that it was a season-ending injury for him.

Williamson, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Titans back in 2014. He played out his rookie contract with Tennessee before agreeing to a three-year, $22.5 million contract that includes $16 million guaranteed.

In 2018, Williamson appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and recorded 120 tackles, three sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and six pass defenses.
