Jets Re-Sign RFA CB Marcus Williams

The New York Jets have re-signed restricted free agent CB Marcus Williams, according toย Rich ย Cimini.

The second-round tender will cost the Jets $2.746 millionย for the 2017 season.

Williams, 25, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in Houston before he was waived and later signed to the Jetsโ€™ practice squad during the 2014 season.

In 2016, Williams appeared in 13 games for the Jets and recorded 33 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, a forced fumble and six pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
