McLendon, 33, wound up signing on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Troy back in 2010. After six years in Pittsburgh, McLendon departed in 2016 and signed a three-year, $10.5 million contract with the Jets.

McLendon made a base salary of $3 million for the 2018 season before re-signing to a one-year, $2.5 million extension back in March, meaning New York is clearly impressed enough to lock him down for another year.

In 2019, McLendon has appeared in four games and recorded 11 total tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 12 overall interior defender out of 114 qualifying players.
