Jets Sign No. 6 Overall Pick S Jamal Adams

The New York Jets have signed first-round S Jamal Adams to a four-year rookie contract, according to his agency.

Adams, 21, was taken with the No. 6 overall pick by the Jets. Some felt Adams could be drafted as high as No. 2 overall to the 49ers, but the Jets were able to come away with an impact talent that should help to solidify their secondary for the foreseeable future.

Adams has drawn comparisons to Chiefs Pro Bowl S Eric Berry.

According to OverTheCap.com, Adams will receive a four-year contract worth $22,256,084, which includes a signing bonus of $14,326,244. The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

During his three-year college career at LSU, Adams recorded 209 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, two sacks, five interceptions, 14 pass defenses, two forced fumbles and two recoveries over the course of 36 games.
