The New York Jets announced Monday that they’ve signed WR DeAngelo Yancey to their practice squad.

Yancey, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Packers back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.62 million contract with the Packers and was set make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Packers waived him at the start of last season.
Yancey later re-signed to the Packers’ practice squad and brought him back on a futures contract only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason. He later had a brief stint on their practice squad.
During his four-year college career at Purdue, Yancey caught 141 passes for 2,344 yards receiving (16.6 YPR) and 20 touchdowns for the Boilermakers. As a senior, Yancey finished in the top-10 in receptions yards and touchdowns while leading the league in yards per reception. He was voted second-team All-Big Ten in 2016.
