Adam Schefter reports that the Jets are signing OT George Fant to a three-year, $30 million contract that includes $13.7 million guaranteed.

Recent rumors suggested that Fant could be someone to watch to play left tackle for the Jets after they lost out on some of the top offensive linemen in this year’s free agent class.

Even with the addition of Fant, the Jets still have more work to do in terms of their offensive line.

Fant, 27, signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky back in 2016. He finished a three-year rookie contract before the Seahawks used a second-round restricted tender on him last year worth $3.095 million for the 2019 season.

In 2019, Fant appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks, making seven starts for them. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 57 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
