Jets Tried Out Offensive Linemen Russell Bodine & Bryan Witzmann

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the New York Jets worked out free agent offensive linemen Bryan Witzmann and Russell Bodine on Monday.

Bodine, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,676,456 contract before agreeing to a two-year contract with the Bills last year.

The Patriots traded a sixth-round pick to the Bills for Bodine coming out of the preseason. However, he lasted just a week in New England before being released.

In 2018, Bodine appeared in 10 games for the Bills, making 10 starts before being placed on injured reserve.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.

Witzmann, 29, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Houston before signing on to the Saints’ practice squad a few weeks into the 2015 season.

Since then, Witzmann has played for several teams including the Cowboys, Chiefs, Vikings, Bears, Browns and Dolphins before signing on the Panthers at the end of September. Carolina elected to move on Witzmann last week.

In 2018, Witzmann appeared in 10 games for the Bears and made seven starts.
