Jets Worked Out OLB Jayrone Elliott

According to Howard Balzer, the Jets brought in OLB Jayrone Elliott for a workout on Friday.

The Colts and Seahawks have worked out Elliott last week but did not sign him to a contract.

Elliott, 25, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out Toledo back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1,535,000 rookie contract with the Packers but did not receive a restricted offer from the team, which is why he’s been testing the open market.

Elliott re-signed with the Packers this offseason but was traded to the Cowboys at the start of the regular season for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2018. Dallas elected to cut Elliott loose after a few weeks.

In 2016, Elliott appeared in 11 games for the Packers and recorded 19 tackles and sack.
