Jets Worked Out 5 Players Including RB Travaris Cadet & S Phillip Thomas

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Jets work out five players this week including RB Travaris Cadet, DL Davon Coleman, LB Julian Stanford, S Phillip Thomas, and DL DeAngelo Tyson.

Cadet, 26, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2012. He spent three years in New Orleans before he was allowed to test the open market this past March.

The Patriots wound up signing him to a two-year contract worth $1.75 million contract, only to release him a little over a week ago.

This season, Cadet was active for one game and caught one pass for two yards receiving.

Thomas, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2013. He was waived by the Redskins a few months ago in a move that cleared $510,000 in cap space for Washington.

The Dolphins would later sign him to a contract, but he lasted just a few weeks in Miami before he was among their early roster cuts.

Since then, Thomas has worked out for the Raiders and Browns, but has yet to receive an offer from either team.

In 2014, Thomas appeared in eight games and recorded 27 tackles and fumble recovery. He previously missed the entire 2013 season after he sustained a broken foot.
