Panthers Rookie LB Luke Kuechly Has Been Impressive Thus Far

According to Joseph Person from the Charlotte Observer, first round pick LB Luke Kuechly played mostly as a middle linebacker during the team’s OTAs and minicamp while Jon Beason was sidelined.

Beason has played the weakside previously, but has said his preference is the middle.

“I’ll be full go, no limitations, getting ready for the first preseason game – whoever that is – and our opener,” Beason said.

As for Kuechly, Person seems to think he has a good shot at starting for the Panthers as a middle linebacker this season. During the draft, several experts referred to him as the most NFL ready player in the draft, so we’ll have to see how things play out for the young linebacker.
