Latest On Contracts Talks Between Broncos & CB Chris Harris

Recent reports mentioned that the Broncos and CB Chris Harris appear to be moving closer to a deal after the two sides met this past weekend.

However, Josina Anderson reports that there has been “no additional progress” made towards an agreement on a deal between Denver and Harris’ agent, Frederick Lyles, at the time.

Mike Klis mentioned last night that the two sides were discussing a contract adjustment.

The Broncos and Harris have reportedly exchanged multiple offers in recent weeks, but it appears as though there’s still more work to be done.

Harris was reportedly seeking $15 million per year as part of a new deal.

While Harris previously requested a trade, the Broncos have maintained that they have no plans to do so.

Harris, 29, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011. He has played all seven years of his NFL career in Denver.

Harris is entering the final year of his five-year, $42.5 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus and stands to make a base salary of $7.8 million for the 2019 season.

In 2018, Harris appeared in 11 games for the Broncos and recorded 48 tackles, one sack, three interceptions returned for a touchdown and 10 pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding Harris as the news is available.
