Lions Also Working Former Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Lions are working out former Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas on Tuesday.

The Lions are reportedly hosting free agent RB Ben Tate and WR/KR Brad Smith as well, so they are clearly looking to at some competition at their skill positions.

The Cowboys took a look at Thomas a few weeks ago, but ultimately elected to not sign him to a contract.

Thomas, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2011. He was never able to live up to expectations in Miami and after playing our his rookie contract, Thomas returned to the Dolphins on a one-year deal last year.

In 2014, Thomas appeared in 12 games and ran for 168 yards on 44 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 121 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
