Lions GM Bob Quinn tells Ian Rapoport on the “Rapsheet + Friends” podcast that he’s “open for business” at No. 8 overall.
“I always like draft picks, so if we could move back a little bit, a couple spots, and pick up another pick, I think this is a really good, the depth of this draft from the late first to the third, there’s a lot of really good players in there,” Quinn said, per Justin Rogers. “If I could ever move back a few spots, get a really good player in the first round and add another pick, I think that’s something that would be great. People out there listening, I’m open for business.”
The Lions are in an interesting spot, as there should be a few intriguing prospects available to them in round one.
Typically, it takes a team looking to move up for a quarterback at that point in round one for a team drop back and pick up some additional draft picks to work with.
There has been a lot of buzz about the Broncos and Missouri QB Drew Lock and there’s also a chance that someone like Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins could fall a bit to the point where teams could start calling the Lions about No. 8 overall.
Other teams like the Jets have made it know that they’re also looking to move back in round one if possible.
