Lions Working Out Three Including RB Alex Collins

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Lions are hosting free agent RB Alex Collins for a visit.

The Lions are also trying out LB Chris Covington and RB Jordan Scarlett.

Collins is reportedly fully healthy from the broken leg he suffered last year.

The Seahawks expressed some interest in Collins back in March, but nothing ever came of their interest.

Collins, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2.566 million contract when he was cut loose by the Seahawks at the start of the 2017 season.

Collins signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad a few days later and was eventually promoted to their active roster. The Ravens brought him back on an exclusive rights contract for the 2018 season but he was released last year following an arrest and a three-game suspension by the NFL.

In 2018, Collins appeared in 10 games and rushed for 411 yards on 114 carries (3.6 YPC) to go along with 15 receptions for 105 yards receiving and eight total touchdowns.
