Lions Place OT Greg Robinson On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

Lions OT Greg Robinson officially reverted to the team’s injured reserve on Monday after passing through waivers unclaimed.

Robinson, 25, was taken with the No. 2 overall pick back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $21.284 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $3,322,377 for the 2017 season.

The Rams declined to pick up Robison’s fifth-year option during that offseason that was worth $12,496,000 for the 2018 season. Los Angeles later traded Robinson to the Lions for a 2018 sixth-round pick.

Detroit elected to waive Robinson with an injury designation on Friday.

In 2017, Robinson has appeared in six games for the Lions and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 71 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.
