Lions Re-Sign WR Deontez Alexander, Waive/Injured LB Tre Lamar

The Detroit Lions announced Sunday that they’ve re-signed WR Deontez Alexander to a contract and waived LB Tre Lamar with an injury designation.

Alexander, 23, wound up signing on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Franklin back in May of last year. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Lions, but was unfortunately waived with an injury designation during the preseason and later reverted to their injured reserve list.

The Lions waived Alexander from injured reserve with a settlement soon after. He was signed to their practice squad soon after.

During his two years at Franklin, Alexander caught 114 passes for 2,133 yards receiving to go along with 33 touchdowns over the course of 21 games.
