According to Mike Silver, the Lions are working out veteran LB Brandon Spikes on Tuesday, but there are currently no plans to sign him to a contract.

Spikes, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2010. He spent four years in New England before signing on with the Bills for the 2014 season after finding a limited free agent market.

The Patriots elected to re-sign Spike to a one-year contract worth $1.1 million in 2015, only to release him in June after he was involved in a car accident and left the scene. Spike later re-signed with the Bills before the 2016 season.

Spikes sat out the 2017 season.

In 2016, Spikes appeared in nine games for the Bills and recorded 11 tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
